Associate Litigation Attorney (General Liability/Labor & Employment)

A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Associate Litigation Attorney to join its team in New York City or Westchester County, NY. The ideal candidate will have a background in general liability or labor and employment law and will be involved in all phases of litigation, from case initiation to expert discovery. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for professional growth within a collaborative and dynamic legal environment, working alongside experienced attorneys on a wide variety of legal issues.

Duties

• Represent clients throughout the litigation process, focusing on professional liability and labor and employment law matters.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and manage discovery processes.
• Draft and review legal documents such as discovery requests, motions, court orders, pleadings, settlement agreements, and memoranda.
• Prepare litigation summaries, discovery response evaluations, and status reports for clients.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to reach settlements.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, providing legal analysis, case updates, and strategic advice.

Requirements

• Active membership in the New York Bar.
• Experience in drafting discovery documents, leading depositions, and arguing motions in court.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with LexisNexis legal research software.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.
