Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Medical Malpractice Defense team in Uniondale, NY. This hybrid position requires an attorney with 3-5 years of experience in medical malpractice, healthcare litigation, or personal injury litigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of medical malpractice defense, including litigation strategy development, legal research, drafting documents, and client interaction. Location:

Duties:

  • Collaborate with senior litigators to develop litigation strategies for defending medical malpractice actions

  • Draft and review pleadings, discovery documents, memos, briefs, and other legal correspondence

  • Analyze medical records and interact with medical experts

  • Represent clients in court

  • Participate in depositions, conferences, hearings, and all other aspects of medical malpractice litigation

  • Conduct legal and medical research and analysis

  • Draft motions and assist in case preparation

  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and maintain positive client relations

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice in New York

  • 3-5 years of experience in medical malpractice/healthcare litigation or personal injury litigation (other litigation experience will be considered for the right candidate)

  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to resolve problems quickly and interact effectively with clients

Education:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice in New York
