Civil and Business Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced and skilled Civil or Business Litigation Attorney to join its rapidly expanding team. This position, which can be done remotely, offers the opportunity to work on complex business litigation and employment defense cases. You will play a key role in managing litigation matters, crafting legal strategies, and delivering outstanding legal services to clients throughout California.

Duties:

• Manage complex business litigation and employment defense cases
• Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
• Conduct and defend depositions for both fact and expert witnesses
• Prepare and argue motions, including motions to dismiss and motions in limine
• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding litigation risks and strategies
• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes
• Collaborate with the firm’s principal and legal support staff to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
• Maintain a proactive approach to case management, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on business litigation and/or employment defense
• Strong background in drafting and responding to discovery, depositions, and legal motion practice
• Proficient in civil procedure, evidence, and substantive business litigation and employment defense law
• Strong research and analytical abilities to manage and resolve complex legal issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing California State Bar license with a clean disciplinary record
