Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a highly skilled Labor and Employment Attorney with 4-6 years of employment litigation experience to join its Dallas office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employment litigation and counseling, with a strong background in legal analysis and writing. Candidates with traditional labor expertise are preferred, but not required.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and other workplace issues.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counseling to clients on employment law matters, including employee relations, compliance, and policy development.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
  • Advise clients on workplace investigations, employee discipline, and other employment-related matters.
  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, including motion practice, depositions, discovery, settlement negotiations, and trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and legal approaches.
  • Participate in client meetings, maintaining strong client relationships and offering sound legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in employment litigation, with a focus on both litigation and counseling.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Experience with traditional labor law is preferred but not required.
  • Comfort with direct client interaction and providing proactive legal advice.
  • Must be currently licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and a desire for career growth and development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas (required).

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, practical advice.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in employment law counseling and litigation strategy.
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
