Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Salt Lake City is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The candidate will work on a variety of complex commercial and business litigation matters, including securities, white collar defense, antitrust, bankruptcy, restructuring, product liability, real estate litigation, and intellectual property disputes. The ideal candidate should have strong familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local rules, be highly motivated, and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Additionally, the candidate must be diligent, high energy, possess excellent writing skills, and be able to work independently to manage myriad deadlines while thriving in a team environment. Experience with taking depositions, briefing and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, and interfacing with clients and opposing counsel is essential. Law Review experience is preferred. The candidate should have high marks from a reputable law school and be in good standing with the Utah State Bar.

Duties:

• Work on a variety of complex commercial and business litigation matters.
• Handle cases ranging from securities, white collar defense, antitrust, bankruptcy, restructuring, product liability, real estate litigation, to intellectual property disputes.
• Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local rules.
• Take depositions, brief and argue dispositive and discovery motions.
• Interface with clients and opposing counsel.
• Manage deadlines effectively and work well in a team environment.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Participate in case strategy development and implementation.
• Attend court hearings and trials as necessary.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school.
• 3-5 years of litigation experience.
• Strong familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local rules.
• Excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated and diligent.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
• Experience with taking depositions, briefing, and arguing motions.
• Law Review experience preferred.
• High marks from a reputable law school.
• Good standing with the Utah State Bar.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school.

Certifications:

Good standing with the Utah State Bar.
