Job Overview:
A well-established mid-size law firm in Boston is seeking a senior-level associate to join its highly regarded Trusts & Estates practice. This role involves advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and their professional advisors on advanced, tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies. The position offers the opportunity to work within a team-oriented environment, handling sophisticated estate planning and administration matters.

Location:

  • Boston, MA

Duties:

  • Collaborate with experienced Trusts & Estates attorneys on comprehensive estate planning strategies

  • Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, and HIPAA releases

  • Advise clients on asset protection techniques, business succession planning, and tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies

  • Assist with the formation and administration of trusts, limited partnerships, and LLCs for asset protection

  • Implement charitable giving strategies using various trusts and private foundations

  • Handle Massachusetts and federal taxable estate administrations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in estate planning, trusts and estates administration, and estate and gift tax planning

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a client-focused approach

  • Exceptional drafting and reviewing skills for sophisticated estate planning and financial documents

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic legal environment

  • Experience at a reputable regional, national, or respected local law firm is strongly preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar

  • LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of estate and gift tax laws

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic estate planning solutions

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
