Employment Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will defend and litigate a variety of employment-related claims, provide counsel on labor and employment laws, and demonstrate strong advocacy skills in both courtroom and administrative settings.

Duties:

• Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
• Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to employers on various labor and employment laws and regulations.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery requests, conducting depositions, and preparing witnesses for testimony.
• Stay informed of labor and employment law developments and communicate implications to clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Active licenses to practice law in Missouri (MO) and Kansas (KS) in good standing.
• Minimum of 4+ years of litigation experience, with a strong background in employment law preferred.
• Familiarity with current court and employment-related agency procedures (state and federal).
