Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with technology and intellectual property law expertise to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience handling complex technology transactions and intellectual property matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of technology and intellectual property agreements, including:

    • Software licensing and cloud services agreements
    • Software, data, and IP development agreements
    • Reseller and distribution agreements
    • E-commerce agreements
    • AI/ML development, licensing, and service agreements
    • Media, entertainment, and content licensing deals
    • Global IT, facilities, and BPO transactions
    • Digital infrastructure deals (data centers and telecom)
  • Conduct IP due diligence for M&A, private equity, and other corporate transactions.

  • As needed, provide legal advice and support on drug and medical device development, data privacy and security, and government services.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and offices on cross-functional projects.

  • Manage projects from inception through completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in technology and intellectual property law.
  • Experience with complex technology transactions, preferably including software licensing and IP development agreements.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC (or eligible for admission).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications (if applicable):

  • Relevant certifications in technology or intellectual property law (e.g., Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Licensing Professional (CLP)) preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
