Job Title: Immigration Attorney - EOIR

Job Location: Houston, TX

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team as an EOIR Attorney. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of immigration cases, including representing clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Duties:

  • Represent clients in non-detained and detained immigration proceedings, including in front of the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the BIA.
  • Prepare and file defensive immigration applications such as I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, SIJS, and PD requests.
  • Review and process immigration applications filed with USCIS, including I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa petitions.
  • Meet with clients to discuss case strategies and provide legal analysis.
  • Manage a team of paralegals to ensure high-quality service and timely case progression.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs and other documents related to a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong track record of successfully managing and advancing legal cases.
  • Proficient in case management software (preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

  • Extensive experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR matters, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes.
  • Strong writing and research skills, particularly in drafting legal briefs and documents.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities.
  • Experience handling a diverse caseload and managing client expectations.
