A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Columbia, SC. Duties

  • Assess and manage new cases by developing strategic action plans and setting realistic budgets.

  • Represent clients at depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, ensuring comprehensive and accurate reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, gain client approval, and prepare for trial when needed.
  • Maintain continuous communication with clients, paralegals, and other legal staff to ensure progress and success of cases.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance law preferred.
  • Active and in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar.
  • Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interactions with clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn and adapt to legal management software.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the South Carolina State Bar.
