Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney specializing in labor law on behalf of management. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding and practical experience in various facets of labor law, including collective negotiations, union-free and unionized workplaces, wage and hour dispute resolution, employment law counseling, public sector labor law, and interactions with administrative agencies. This position requires a solid academic background, exceptional writing skills, and admission to the NJ Bar, with NY Bar admission preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in labor law matters, including collective negotiations and dispute resolutions.
  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients regarding union-free and unionized workplaces.
  • Handle wage and hour disputes, including litigation and claims resolution.
  • Offer comprehensive employment law counseling to management.
  • Navigate and address issues related to public sector labor law.
  • Represent clients before administrative agencies in labor and employment-related matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and mediations.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through effective communication and legal advice.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in labor law to ensure compliance and proactive legal strategies.

Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of experience in labor law on behalf of management.
  • Proven track record in collective negotiations and managing union-free and unionized workplace issues.
  • Experience in wage and hour dispute resolution, claims, and litigation.
  • Proficiency in employment law counseling and public sector labor law.
  • Experience in representing clients before administrative agencies.
  • Admission to the NJ Bar.
  • Admission to the NY Bar (preferred).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active NJ Bar admission required.
  • Active NY Bar admission preferred.

  • Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
