Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its team in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home defense and be able to effectively advocate for clients throughout all stages of litigation. This role requires exceptional analytical, research, and communication skills and the ability to handle complex legal issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to advocate for clients effectively.
  • Represent insurers in pre-litigation matters and throughout all stages of litigation.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, and trial documents, and handle appellate activity.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Kentucky.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home defense.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex legal issues.
  • Demonstrate excellent research abilities.
  • Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Kentucky State Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Medical Malpractice law.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and summarizing medical records.
  • Expertise in litigation procedures and legal documentation.
  • Strong ability to prepare and conduct depositions.
