Appellate Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm specializing in humanitarian immigration law is seeking an experienced Appellate Immigration Attorney to join its team in Miami Beach, Florida. The role involves handling complex immigration cases, including motions, Requests for Evidence (RFEs), appeals, and formulating legal strategies to support clients seeking legal status in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, be detail-oriented, and dedicated to advocating for vulnerable communities.

Location:

• Miami Beach, Florida

Duties:

• Review and analyze denial decisions, developing strategies for appeals
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate legal strategies and manage cases
• Prepare and oversee various case filings, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Conduct attorney-level review and edits of submissions to USCIS
• Perform in-depth legal research to address unique challenges in immigration cases
• Draft and prepare briefs for RFEs, motions to reconsider or reopen, and appeals
• Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes in immigration law
• Provide solutions to complex legal issues and mentor team members in a collaborative environment
• Additional responsibilities as required to support the firm's mission

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state
• 2-5 years of experience in immigration law, particularly in family and humanitarian-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, crimmigration, and appellate proceedings
• Strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to varying schedules and work flexibly
• Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills in both writing and speaking
• Advanced computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software applications
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state
