General Liability (Maritime) Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice group, specializing in Maritime law. This position is available across various locations in Florida and is ideal for candidates with a robust background in relevant practice areas and exceptional skills in writing, research, and litigation.

Location:

• Orlando, FL

Duties:

• Conduct file reviews and perform legal analysis of claims
• Engage in extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Achieve an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate on expert witness retention
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Some travel may be required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General Liability, specifically in Maritime law
• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in Florida; admission in additional states is a plus
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong research and communication abilities, both written and oral
• Strong work ethic with the ability to self-manage in a team environment
• Prompt responsiveness to emails and phone inquiries
• Excellent client interaction skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active law license in Florida
