Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a motivated and results-driven Associate Attorney with experience in or a strong interest in consumer collection litigation. The ideal candidate will provide thorough and practical legal assessments and advocacy while handling all aspects of the legal collection process. This role requires a commitment to continuous quality work, maintaining integrity, and achieving results in a fast-paced, energized environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough and practical assessments and legal advice to clients in and out of court during the collection process.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes and negotiate amicable resolutions.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Document account/file activity in compliance with Firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Travel to various courts within the State and manage all aspects of a case’s litigation lifecycle.
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations; formulate legal opinions for review by a supervising attorney.
  • Maintain responsive communication with clients to foster and develop client relationships.
  • Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to stay updated on legal changes, rules of court, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to utilize collective resources and knowledge for high-quality solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Nevada (NV).
  • Experience in consumer collection litigation preferred; training provided for candidates with a strong interest.
  • Advanced knowledge of and understanding of consumer collections' legal and regulatory framework.
  • Familiarity with civil litigation processes and state and federal consumer protection laws.
  • Superior time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Leadership skills with the capability to drive and motivate team members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across various recipients, including organizational levels and external contacts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar license in Nevada.
