Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases, focusing on retail and office leases.
  • Handle industrial leasing matters, where applicable.
  • Work on lease-related litigation, including commercial landlord-tenant disputes and construction litigation.
  • Engage in bankruptcy matters involving leasing issues.
  • Provide strategic and responsive client service, demonstrating a strong understanding of client needs.
  • Collaborate with other team members, contributing to cross-disciplinary legal services.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Develop client relationships and provide solutions for complex leasing and real estate matters.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial leasing, with an emphasis on retail and office leases.
  • Experience with industrial leasing is a plus.
  • Proven success in negotiating and drafting commercial leases.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks, meeting deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong client-service orientation and communication skills.
  • Must be admitted to the New York Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in New York.

Skills:

  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills for commercial leases.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Expertise in lease-related litigation and bankruptcy issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
