Corporate Associate

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate to join its Charleston office. This role involves representing both public and privately owned companies in various business matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. The position offers extensive client contact and the opportunity to provide pragmatic counsel on a wide range of corporate and commercial projects.

Location:

• Charleston, South Carolina

Duties:

• Review, draft, and negotiate principal and ancillary agreements related to commercial transactions
• Handle supply, purchase, service, transportation, and related agreements
• Provide counsel on mergers and acquisitions
• Offer corporate governance advice
• Engage in extensive client interaction and provide pragmatic business counsel

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of corporate transactional experience
• M&A experience (preferred but not required)
• Strong business acumen and ability to quickly grasp business concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to ask questions, learn, and work in a team-oriented environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent

Certifications:

• Admission to the North Carolina State Bar (preferred)

Skills:

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in handling corporate and commercial transactions
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
