A law firm located in Buffalo, NY, is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its growing legal team. This role will involve managing a diverse range of litigation matters, including commercial, employment, civil rights, personal injury, product liability, and construction cases. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, collegial environment and is eager to take on significant responsibilities from the start.

Duties:

• Manage and litigate a wide variety of cases in both state and federal courts
• Handle all phases of litigation, from pre-trial motions to post-trial proceedings
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda
• Provide strategic advice to clients and handle day-to-day case management
• Appear in court to argue motions and represent clients
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals while also being able to work independently
• Potential to contribute to the firm’s future growth with opportunities for ownership

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing litigation in state and federal courts
• Strong track record in managing litigation cases, from inception through trial
• Admission to the New York State Bar
• Proven experience with taking and defending depositions, motion practice, and trial-related tasks
• Ability to work independently and handle a heavy caseload
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar
