Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Business Transactions Associate to join its practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex business transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is a plus. A background in accounting or tax, or an LL.M. in Taxation, is highly preferred. The role requires excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Support securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to business transactions
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients on business matters
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Work independently on client matters while collaborating with internal teams
  • Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business transactions, especially mergers and acquisitions
  • Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures preferred
  • Accounting or tax experience (or an LL.M. in Taxation) strongly preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Demonstrated writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Strong attention to detail and client service-oriented mindset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred but not required)
