Litigation Associate Attorney II

A law firm in Mandeville, LA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney II with 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense, premise liability defense, worker’s compensation, and/or product liability defense. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple case files successfully in a busy environment.

Duties:

• Manage multiple case files successfully in a busy environment.
• Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
• Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.
• Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency.
• Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts.
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and status report correspondence.
• Assist in trial preparation and trial.
• Assist with and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
• Licensure in Mississippi and other additional state admissions is a plus.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in insurance defense, premise liability defense, worker’s compensation, and/or product liability defense.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.
• Ability to move efficiently from case to case.
• Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
