Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to support its partners in handling civil, family, and real estate law matters. This full-time position offers the opportunity to assist in various legal proceedings, including court cases, mediations, arbitrations, and administrative law hearings. The role involves direct client interaction, research, and active participation in trial preparation and legal strategy development. This in-office role requires daily attendance at the Dallas office.

Duties:

  • Assist lead attorneys with motion practice, discovery, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research using case law, legislation, and other legal sources.
  • Handle state and federal cases, including arbitration matters.
  • Manage communication with opposing counsel and court staff.
  • Delegate tasks to staff members as necessary.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, trial briefs, and original petitions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • 2-3 years of experience in civil litigation, family law, and real estate law preferred (open to training candidates with less experience who have the required qualifications).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with drafting motions, trial briefs, and handling depositions.
  • Ability to manage a docket of assigned cases and handle all aspects of case management.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software such as My Case.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
