Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Bloomington, Illinois, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented litigation attorney with a strong foundation in personal injury and/or long-term care litigation. This full-time opportunity involves managing an expanding caseload and collaborating with legal staff in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on both pre-litigation strategy and active litigation, with support provided to ensure efficiency and professional development. Duties:

  • Lead and manage a docket of personal injury and/or nursing home abuse cases from intake through resolution

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, motions, pleadings, and correspondence

  • Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and handle other court-related proceedings

  • Collaborate closely with legal assistants and support personnel to ensure cases progress efficiently

  • Regularly communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, and insurance representatives

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for each case

  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives by promoting positive team dynamics and professional standards

  • Guide and mentor support staff as needed to ensure quality legal service delivery

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling personal injury and/or nursing home litigation

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois

  • Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage case timelines and delegate tasks appropriately

  • Comfortable with high client interaction and able to maintain professionalism and empathy

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficient in litigation procedures and legal documentation

  • Effective oral and written communicator with a client-focused approach

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
