A law firm seeks an Associate Bankruptcy Attorney with an interest in bankruptcy law to join its team remotely. The ideal candidate will manage bankruptcy matters, focusing on contested or litigated cases, while working closely with clients to ensure all legal filings and procedures are handled efficiently. This position involves a high-volume workload, client interaction, and working within the CM/ECF filing system. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in California.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle contested and litigated bankruptcy matters.
  • Draft and review all pleadings, claims, and filings on behalf of clients.
  • Monitor and respond to all electronic court filings (ECFs) in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and answer inquiries.
  • Respond to objections, motions, and general inquiries involving clients’ rights.
  • Attend scheduled hearings and represent clients in bankruptcy court as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of bankruptcy laws, rules, and general creditor rights laws.
  • Strong computer literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and utilize case management systems.
  • Familiarity with the CM/ECF filing system.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional work ethic, professionalism, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California (required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective client relationship management and communication skills.
