Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Trust and Estate Planning attorney or group of attorneys to join their team. This opportunity is based primarily in the firm’s Boston, MA, or Manchester, NH offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting complex estate plans, and asset protection strategies and addressing tax implications for high-net-worth clients. You will be expected to handle a range of responsibilities, with a focus on providing expert counsel in estate planning and probate matters.

Duties:

  • Draft sophisticated estate plans, including wills, trusts, and other related documents.
  • Advise high-net-worth clients on asset protection strategies to minimize estate, gift, and income tax liabilities.
  • Oversee and manage probate proceedings, ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and laws.
  • Develop customized solutions for estate planning based on each client’s unique needs.
  • Manage ongoing client relationships, offering strategic legal counsel and assistance with complex matters.
  • Handle advanced estate tax issues and guide minimizing tax exposure.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver comprehensive client service.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) required; LL.M. in tax or estate planning preferred.
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in trust and estate planning, with a focus on complex matters.
  • Strong knowledge of estate tax law and probate procedures.
  • A portable book of business is desirable.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with a professional and client-centric approach.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high-stakes matters under tight deadlines.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in estate planning or taxation is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bar is required.
