Labor and Employment Attorney

Job Overview: This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Labor and Employment Attorney with experience in the public sector. The attorney will serve as a legal advocate for clients, providing guidance on various employment matters, including collective bargaining, compliance with labor laws, and employer policies. The position involves representing clients in legal proceedings, advising on labor regulations, and conducting investigations.

Duties:

• Represent clients in court, mediation, and collective bargaining hearings.
• Review and advise on employer handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Conduct investigations on behalf of employers regarding employment-related issues.
• Advise clients on federal and state labor and employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, and PLAWA.
• Provide legal support on employment and labor matters affecting public sector clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in collective bargaining or public sector employment law.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel within the Chicago area and across the state for client meetings and court appearances.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills:
