Insurance Coverage Attorney

Job Overview:
A national defense law firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its team remotely. This role will involve a mix of insurance coverage opinion work and insurance defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience drafting coverage opinions and handling various insurance coverage matters, including liability and property insurers.

Location:

• Bakersfield, CA

Duties:

• Draft insurance coverage opinions for a range of liability and property insurers with varying complexities.
• Handle insurance defense litigation, including preparing motions, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
• Work closely with clients to resolve insurance-related matters.
• Provide legal guidance on coverage issues for both property and liability claims.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in a remote setting.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in California (additional state licensure is a plus).
• 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage matters (preferred).
• Experience in insurance defense litigation (required).
• Strong understanding of insurance coverage law, including liability and property claims.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with minimal supervision.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar (required).
• Additional state bar memberships are a plus.

Skills:

• Strong research and writing skills, especially in relation to insurance coverage matters.
• Proficient in Westlaw and other legal research tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
