A law firm seeks an experienced and highly skilled Of Counsel attorney to join its Projects & Energy Finance group. This position will focus on energy transition financing, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge matters involving renewable energy and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy transition finance, particularly with a focus on tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization. This is a unique chance to contribute to internationally recognized projects in the evolving energy sector.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice on complex financing matters related to energy transition projects.
  • Handle transactions related to the financing and M&A of energy transition projects and companies.
  • Advise on tax equity structures and renewable energy tax credit monetization.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents and agreements for energy-related projects.
  • Support clients in navigating regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with other legal teams and stakeholders to develop creative solutions for energy transition deals.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and transactions involving energy transition projects and companies.
  • Work on internationally recognized matters involving renewable energy financing and energy transition deals.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
  • Proven track record in handling financing and M&A transactions in the energy transition space.
  • Expertise in tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization.
  • Strong ability to manage complex legal matters and provide innovative solutions.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal concepts.
  • Experience working with clients in the energy sector and understanding of energy market dynamics.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
  • Expertise in energy transition financing and M&A transactions.
  • Advanced drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of tax equity and renewable energy tax credit mechanisms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
