A law firm is seeking a Litigation Innovation Attorney to drive the firm's innovation efforts in enhancing the delivery of legal services within the Litigation business unit. This role will focus on optimizing client service delivery and increasing efficiencies through people, processes, and technology. Reporting to the Global Head of Practice Innovation, the candidate will collaborate with the Litigation team to lead and support projects that streamline and improve legal services, integrate advanced technologies, and enhance overall practice management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support initiatives to improve client service delivery and operational efficiencies within the Litigation business unit.
  • Develop best practices and programs to leverage the firm’s resources and technology effectively.
  • Oversee projects related to digital transformation, including automation, data capture, and the use of online resources.
  • Support the firm’s data strategy by tracking matter data, monitoring practice content and resource usage, and capturing experience data.
  • Serve as a primary resource for practice-related questions and issues.
  • Vet, pilot, and support the integration of new technologies, including leading rollouts and adoption within the business unit.
  • Design and implement matter management workflows, including intake, staffing, compliance, resource materials, and client reporting.
  • Create tailored solutions such as dashboards, workflow automation, and budget tracking tools.
  • Identify and integrate appropriate resources, including analytics tools and litigation technology.
  • Design and improve solutions for sharing matter metrics and data with clients and teams.
  • Capture and utilize matter and experience data to enhance future matters.
  • Develop platforms to improve collaboration with clients, local counsel, and third parties.
  • Create and maintain knowledge libraries and databases for expert, mediator, arbitrator, and judicial experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Research & Information team to identify and integrate relevant practice content.
  • Identify opportunities for practice content sharing and process improvements.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of training programs on client solutions, practice technology, processes, and resources.
  • Lead projects to integrate AI and generative AI into legal practice, automate workflows, and enhance service delivery.
  • Evaluate and improve the efficiency of legal services through internal data, external benchmarking, and market trends.
  • Educate legal professionals on practice content, client solutions, and firm resources to improve utilization.
  • Communicate with administrators, lawyers, paralegals, and staff on various initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and maintain case studies and portal pages for marketing and business development.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university or college and admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a litigation attorney in a large law firm.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks with limited standardization.
  • Familiarity with best practices and technology for managing workflows, documents, and communications.
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for legal technology, including AI and generative AI applications.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize projects.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with excellent public relations and diplomacy abilities.
  • Availability to travel as necessary.
  • Willingness to contribute to other projects and initiatives as needed.
