Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation

A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling discovery, depositions, pleadings, and document review, with a preference for in-court experience. Exceptional academic credentials and strong communication skills are essential.

Job Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery processes, including document production and review.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client matters.
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation at a reputable law firm.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with e-discovery tools and document management systems.
• Prior courtroom experience, including motion practice and trial preparation.
