Job Overview: We are hiring on behalf of a highly regarded law firm seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Global Transportation Finance team in one of the firm’s offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, or Dallas. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse, multidisciplinary team that handles complex domestic and international transactions involving the financing, leasing, acquisition, and restructuring of aviation, rail, maritime, and other equipment assets. The position supports career growth through hands-on client-facing work and business development opportunities, offering a collaborative environment focused on excellence in client service.

Duties:

  • Handle complex transactions involving the financing, leasing, acquisition, and restructuring of transportation assets such as aviation, rail, and maritime.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents related to global transportation finance matters.
  • Manage multiple transactional matters simultaneously while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and shareholders on high-profile transactions.
  • Participate in business development and client-facing activities to support the growth of the practice.
  • Provide legal advice to clients including banks, leasing companies, airlines, private equity firms, and hedge funds.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of transactional experience in a law firm setting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: securitization, leveraged finance, secured lending, capital markets, private equity, project finance, structured finance, real estate finance, maritime, or aviation.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and client communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction (or taking steps to become admitted).

Skills:

  • Expertise in managing transactional matters in transportation finance or related sectors.
  • Strong research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with legal teams and provide sound legal counsel to clients.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $235,000 - $280,000 annual base salary.
