General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a self-motivated Associate Attorney to join its General Liability practice group in White Plains, NY. Location:

• White Plains, NY

Duties:

• Review case files and provide legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Meet annual billable requirement of 1950 hours
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Assist with expert witness retention and collaboration
• Participate in trial preparation and attend trials
• Occasional travel may be required

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in General Liability, Insurance Defense litigation experience is a plus
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in New York (Connecticut bar admission is a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in legal research and excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage cases effectively
• Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to case management
• Timely responsiveness to emails and phone inquiries
• Excellent client communication skills and telephone manner

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (admission to the Connecticut State Bar is a plus but not required)
