Job Title: Senior Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Senior Attorney to manage a complex caseload within the bankruptcy, foreclosure, title, and litigation areas. The ideal candidate will work with banks, investors, mortgage servicers, and other creditors, applying expert legal knowledge while ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and industry standards. The role requires extensive experience in default servicing and a strong background in handling multi-jurisdictional legal matters.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with legal teams to establish procedures for bankruptcy and foreclosure practices, ensuring compliance with local filing requirements and judicial preferences.
  • Provide strategic direction on complex title resolution issues, including title claims and quiet title actions.
  • Advise clients on loan-level recommendations, ensuring all policies and procedures align with the Federal Bankruptcy Code and local regulations.
  • Review and analyze legal documents such as proofs of claim, motions, pleadings, affidavits, title searches, and payment histories.
  • Draft legal documents including motions, objections, certifications, memoranda, and orders.
  • Represent clients in hearings, settlement conferences, and other required appearances, both in-person and virtually.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress and legal developments via email, phone, and client portals.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload with effective prioritization and time management.
  • Handle incoming communications from clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and other stakeholders efficiently.
  • Escalate urgent matters as necessary and perform additional tasks as directed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California and Texas State Bar; other state Bar memberships are a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in representing secured creditors or mortgage servicers, with expertise in bankruptcy and default servicing.
  • Proficient in BKFS LoanSphere Default and Sagent Tempo.
  • Experience with CaseAware and SharePoint is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California and Texas State Bar (additional state Bar memberships are a plus).

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling a caseload efficiently.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and devise effective solutions.
