A growing immigration law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in family-based immigration, humanitarian cases, and removal defense. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact, work closely with clients, and collaborate with a supportive and mission-driven team. Remote options are available for the right candidate, though being based in New Jersey or New York is preferred to attend court hearings and USCIS interviews.

Location:

  • Cedar Knolls, New Jersey

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail and compliance with relevant laws.
  • Provide exceptional client service, including explaining legal options and strategies related to immigration law matters.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective case strategies, maintaining a focus on client needs.
  • Manage an independent caseload and supervise paralegal staff.
  • Participate in client strategy sessions and consultations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in family-based immigration petitions, humanitarian cases, and/or removal defense.
  • Active license to practice law in New Jersey or New York.
  • Passion for immigration law and dedication to upholding clients' rights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and tech-savvy.
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under stress and manage time effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in New Jersey or New York (Required).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law, especially family-based, humanitarian, and removal defense cases.
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and drafting skills.
