Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to manage and oversee litigation cases, with a primary focus on pretrial, trial, and appellate practice. This role is ideal for a licensed Colorado attorney with experience in representing financial institutions. The successful candidate will bring strong strategic planning, case management, and communication skills, and will work closely with operational staff to guide procedural updates. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 50-75 active litigation cases, covering all aspects of pretrial, trial, and appellate practice.
  • Act as lead counsel through all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation, pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, trial attendance, post-trial, and appeals.
  • Oversee case strategy, client communications, document management, risk assessment, and settlement negotiations.
  • Guide and collaborate with operational staff on procedural updates, approving changes as necessary.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the firm’s objectives and enhance career growth.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Colorado.
  • 3-5 years of experience as lead counsel in contested litigation, particularly representing financial institutions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Colorado State Bar.
  • Admission to practice before all three Colorado federal districts is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Proven experience managing contested default cases and financial litigation.
