Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking highly qualified law school graduates and judicial clerks to apply for associate positions across its U.S. offices. Lateral candidates with experience in commercial litigation are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have strong experience in handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and managing document review. While in-court experience is preferred, it is not a requirement. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney to join a dynamic, growing litigation team.

Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL

Duties:

  • Manage discovery processes, including handling document review and production.
  • Take and defend depositions in commercial litigation cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for litigation.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including case strategy and legal research.
  • Participate in hearings, motions, and case management conferences.
  • Provide litigation support throughout all stages of litigation, from pre-trial to post-trial.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in developing case strategies and arguments.

Requirements:

  • Experience in commercial litigation, including discovery, depositions, and document review.
  • In-court experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of the office of interest or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of the office of interest (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience in managing discovery and document review.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
  • In-court experience is a plus.
