Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dynamic and motivated Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its practice in Springfield, MO. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing attorneys the flexibility to work remotely while utilizing the firm’s physical office as needed. The attorney will independently manage a workers' compensation defense caseload, participate in business development, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties:

• Independently manage a caseload focused on workers' compensation defense.
• Conduct trials, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service and communication.
• Participate in marketing and business development efforts to grow the firm’s client base.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented atmosphere, sharing insights and strategies.
• Leverage technology to manage client matters efficiently in a paperless work environment.

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of experience in workers' compensation or related legal fields.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Missouri.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to teamwork.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research, case management, and court procedures.
