Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in the Manhattan, NY office. Duties

• Litigation Representation:
  • Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, from initiation to expert discovery, focusing on professional liability and labor/employment law matters.
• Court and Deposition Engagement:
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Legal Research and Drafting:
  • Conduct complex legal research and prepare key legal documents, including discovery requests, responses, motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
• Discovery Management:
  • Review and analyze discovery responses and depositions, preparing litigation updates and summaries.
• Settlement Negotiations:
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel for settlement agreements, aiming for favorable outcomes for clients.
• Client Communication:
  • Provide legal analysis, status reports, and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • Strong litigation experience in New York, with a focus on general liability, labor, and employment law.
  • Proven experience drafting discovery documents, managing depositions, and arguing motions.
• Skills:
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting legal documents and client correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with legal research tools, particularly Lexis.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in New York.
