Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a qualified Patent Agent or Associate to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group. The role is part of a dynamic team focused on Electrical Engineering & Software, with an emphasis on patent prosecution and litigation. Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, software, and technology innovations.
• Manage patent portfolios and advise clients on strategic IP decisions.
• Conduct legal research and provide technical analysis on patent issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure effective IP protection.
• Participate in litigation matters, including providing expert testimony and strategic counsel.
• Stay updated on patent laws, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
• Represent clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Requirements:

• Must be admitted to the USPTO.
• 2-6 years of legal experience, with a focus on patent prosecution and litigation.
• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar technical field.
• Experience in design engineering, particularly with chip companies, is a plus.
• Expertise or familiarity with networking technologies, including 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and oral).
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal and technical issues.

Education:

• A degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.

Certifications:

• Active registration with the USPTO is required.

Skills:

• Patent prosecution experience.
• Litigation experience, particularly in IP law.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
