Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estates and Probate Attorney with 4-6 years of legal practice to join a collaborative law firm. The Attorney II position offers a balance of autonomy and support, with a significant portion of work provided through the firm’s lead generation and marketing efforts. The successful candidate will handle a variety of estates and probate cases, mediate and litigate complex matters, and participate in business development. The role offers competitive compensation, a bonus structure, and a supportive work-life integration environment.

Duties:

  • Handle estates and probate cases, including mediation and trial experience.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Draft legal memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive client information.
  • Engage in business development and marketing of legal services.
  • Perform discovery, due diligence, and preparation for litigation.
  • Manage consultations with prospective clients and convert them to clients.
  • Accurately update case management systems with billing, client information, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case handling.
  • Actively promote the firm’s brand through social media, blogs, and professional engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court members, and colleagues.
  • Meet billing expectations of 1500 hours annually, with collections of 1400 hours.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed attorney or eligible for reciprocal admission to the bar in the relevant state.
  • 4-6 years of experience in estates and probate law.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet production/collection objectives.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000+ annually, based on experience.
