Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a motivated and experienced attorney to join its Cybersecurity and Data Privacy team, part of the Business Litigation Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity and data privacy law, handling data breach incidents, regulatory compliance, and litigation. The role involves working on high-profile cases involving federal and state data privacy regulations, breach responses, and advising clients on data security practices. Location:

  • Bethesda, MD

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on data breach and security incident responses
  • Advise clients on state and federal data privacy and security laws
  • Assist clients with compliance with data privacy regulations, including artificial intelligence (AI) and technology contracts
  • Coordinate forensic investigations and mitigation tactics in response to cyber-attacks
  • Handle data privacy litigation, including drafting briefs, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and appearing in court
  • Work on investigations by the U.S. Office for Civil Rights and state Attorneys General
  • Develop and assist with enterprise-wide privacy and security policies for clients
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on data privacy matters

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney in cybersecurity and data privacy
  • Strong background in data breach response and forensic investigations
  • Superior academic credentials
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and counseling skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Admission to the bar in the state where the primary office is located

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant state
