Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team remotely. The ideal candidate will have expertise in workers' compensation law and a passion for advocating on behalf of TPAs, carriers, and employers. The role involves providing legal counsel, managing workers' compensation claims, and ensuring clients receive the compensation and benefits they are entitled to under the law. Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including filing petitions, negotiating settlements, and advocating in administrative hearings or court

  • Manage all aspects of workers' compensation cases, from initial consultation to resolution

  • Gather evidence, prepare legal documents, submit reconsiderations, amend depositions, and coordinate with medical professionals

  • Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve fair settlements

  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and stay updated on workers' compensation laws

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and the claims process

  • Prepare and review legal documents, including claims, briefs, and appeals

  • Ensure all paperwork complies with legal standards and is submitted timely

  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediation sessions, and court proceedings

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide case updates and address concerns

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

  • Active license with the California State Bar

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation law or a related legal field

  • Certification in workers' compensation law or related specialties is a plus

  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills

  • Proficiency in legal research and case management (LexisNexis knowledge is a plus)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel for court hearings, client meetings, or professional development

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • California State Bar License (Required)

  • Certification in workers' compensation law (optional but preferred)
