Job Overview
A leading law firm is seeking a junior to midlevel associate with one to five years of large law firm experience to join its labor and employment practice in Miami. The ideal candidate will have a background in employment law, including experience with single and multi-plaintiff litigation in federal and state courts and arbitration. Experience in wage and hour disputes, discrimination cases, class-action lawsuits, briefing motions, and handling electronic discovery (ESI) is required.

Duties

  • Handle single and multi-plaintiff litigation in federal and state courts and arbitration
  • Work on wage and hour disputes, discrimination cases, and class-action lawsuits
  • Draft, review, and file legal motions and briefs
  • Manage electronic discovery (ESI) and ensure compliance with discovery rules
  • Advise clients on employment law matters and provide strategic legal guidance
  • Collaborate with senior associates and partners on various labor and employment matters
  • Maintain client relationships and assist in business development efforts

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in a large law firm setting
  • Experience in employment law, including litigation in federal and state courts
  • Familiarity with class-action lawsuits and arbitration
  • Experience with wage and hour disputes and discrimination cases
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar (or eligibility to become a member)

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Proficient in handling electronic discovery (ESI)
  • Ability to draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents
