Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join its team in Marietta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a background in litigation, with a strong desire to represent clients in court. Experience in construction, contract, or property litigation is a plus, but a passion for courtroom advocacy is essential. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, and negotiating settlements. This position offers opportunities to collaborate with senior attorneys and grow within the firm.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation cases, including court trials and hearings.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw to prepare case strategies and inform legal decisions.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other filings.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop effective case strategies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and paralegals (for experienced candidates).
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and clear guidance throughout their cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Georgia State Bar.
• Previous litigation experience preferred, though not required.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with familiarity using Westlaw.
• Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients.
• A commitment to ethical legal practices and ongoing professional development.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
