Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Mid-Level Venture and Growth Associate Attorney to join its dynamic finance team. This role involves representing lenders in commercial finance transactions, particularly in industries such as technology, life sciences, and middle market companies. Candidates with a strong background in private credit and bank loans will excel in this position. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and thrive in a fast-paced legal environment while managing competing demands.

Duties:

  • Represent lenders, such as banks and private credit funds, in complex finance transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality legal counsel.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing agreements, loan documents, and other legal instruments.
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in work.
  • Foster strong working relationships with clients and colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Participate in virtual meetings, and conference calls, and work with digital tools as needed.
  • Manage competing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other related legal duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in lender-side representation for commercial finance matters.
  • Experience working with banks and/or private credit funds on loans to technology, life sciences, and middle market companies.
  • Direct experience from a top-tier law firm (AmLaw 100 experience preferred).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
  • Admitted to practice law in Washington, DC.

Certifications:

  • Active DC Bar admission is required.
