A law firm seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Immigration Attorney to join its team in Minneapolis. This role offers the opportunity to represent clients in various immigration matters, including family-based and employment-based cases, humanitarian relief, and removal defense. Ideal candidates will bring 1-2 years of experience in immigration law, though individuals with a strong passion for the field but less experience will also be considered. Duties:

  • Assist senior attorneys with a range of immigration cases, including employment-based, family-based, humanitarian relief, and removal defense.
  • Represent clients in all stages of U.S. immigration processes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, including petitions and applications.
  • Communicate directly with clients and government agencies to ensure the timely processing of cases.
  • Stay informed of updates to immigration laws and policies to provide clients with the most current and effective legal advice.
  • Participate in client meetings and case strategy discussions, ensuring thorough preparation and case management.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in immigration law preferred, but candidates with a demonstrated passion for immigration law are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in Minnesota (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Experience or familiarity with various immigration processes, including visa petitions, asylum applications, and removal defense.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload effectively.
