A law firm seeks an entry-level Workers' Compensation Defense Associate Attorney to join its growing remote team based in San Francisco, CA. The role includes managing workers' compensation defense cases from start to resolution and working closely with clients, insurance providers, and other stakeholders.

Duties

  • Handle the legal defense of workers' compensation cases, managing cases from inception to resolution
  • Conduct and oversee all discovery and litigation processes, ensuring proactive case management
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators to facilitate case outcomes
  • Conduct research, draft motions, and prepare case documentation
  • Participate in a robust mentorship program designed to support attorneys in developing skills and confidence in workers' compensation law

Requirements

  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense preferred
  • State Bar: Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Merus and/or Litify is preferred but not required; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams is beneficial

Education

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Bar Admission: Active member of the California State Bar
