Job Overview:

The law firm is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to provide legal counsel on various environmental matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, permitting, risk mitigation, compliance, and renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing and communication skills, a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Job Details:

Duties:

  • Advise on legal matters related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Provide counsel on real estate, tax credits, and financing transactions with environmental implications.
  • Handle permitting issues associated with stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Address risk mitigation strategies in environmental contexts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Navigate issues related to emerging contaminants.
  • Offer legal support for renewable energy projects.
  • Provide expertise on matters involving the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental law in the public and/or private sector.
  • Familiarity with federal laws and standards (CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, CAA).
  • Knowledge of state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.
  • Portable business preferred.
