Lead Personal Injury Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm in Carrollton, TX, is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Personal Injury Attorney to manage and oversee a growing caseload. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in personal injury law, particularly in handling pre-litigation and litigation matters related to car accidents, premises defects, slip and fall, and dog bite cases. The Lead Personal Injury Attorney will be responsible for managing a team, formulating legal strategies, handling trial work, and ensuring the firm's clients receive personalized, high-quality legal representation.

Location:

• Carrollton, TX

Duties:

• Manage a team of 3 legal professionals while handling a caseload of 75 to 100 personal injury cases, including pre-litigation and some litigation.
• Develop and implement legal strategies for cases, including settlement negotiations and litigation preparation.
• Review and revise pre-litigation demand letters, litigation pleadings, discovery documents, and responses.
• Take ownership of case files and ensure they are advanced efficiently and effectively through the legal process.
• Handle depositions, mediations, motions, and trial work.
• Provide legal guidance and support to clients, ensuring they are informed and cared for throughout their case.
• Maintain strong communication with clients to foster loyalty and generate referrals.
• Collaborate with Paralegals and Legal Assistants to provide high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

• At least 3 to 5 years of litigation experience in personal injury law, including:
  • Experience taking and defending at least 20 depositions.
  • Conducted at least 7 mediations, either as first or second chair.
  • Prior trial experience, either as first or second chair.
• Comprehensive knowledge of discovery procedures, deadlines, and litigation processes.
• Experience drafting Stowers demands, with at least 10 prior examples.
• Exceptional communication, research, and writing skills.
• Strong negotiation and mediation abilities.
• Ability to take ownership of cases and move them forward toward settlement or trial while maintaining a focus on detail and client service.
• Familiarity with Neos case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• License to practice law in Texas.
