Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience to join its team. The Senior Discovery Attorney will advise and support case teams and clients on all aspects of the discovery process, including preservation, production, and pre-litigation governance. The role involves collaborating with attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop eDiscovery workflows aimed at cost control, risk mitigation, and defensibility. This position requires overseeing the quality of work produced by other team members and ensuring consistency and efficiency throughout the discovery process.

Duties

  • Advise case teams and clients on all discovery phases, from preservation to production.
  • Support pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition and witness preparation, and trial preparation as needed.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Ensure risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility throughout the discovery process.
  • Oversee and ensure quality control of work and deliverables from Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all aspects of discovery management.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Proven experience in managing complex discovery processes and workflows.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • eDiscovery certifications such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist are preferred.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace).
  • Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership skills to manage teams and ensure high-quality work.
