A law firm seeks an experienced Debt Finance Associate to join their Austin office. This position presents an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 3-6 years of experience in structuring, documenting, and negotiating secured and unsecured financing transactions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling both borrower and lender-side transactions, including senior secured, mezzanine, and subordinated debt, as well as acquisition financings, loan workouts, and restructurings. Candidates with leveraged finance experience, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, are highly preferred.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex debt finance matters, including structuring and negotiating both secured and unsecured financing transactions.
  • Work on a range of financing types, including senior secured, mezzanine, and subordinated debt, as well as acquisition financings.
  • Support clients in loan workouts, restructurings, and other corporate financing matters.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, private equity funds, and corporate borrowers to navigate financing complexities.
  • Draft and review key legal documents, such as loan agreements, credit facilities, and other financing instruments.
  • Assist in the resolution of complex financial issues, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in debt finance, with expertise in structuring and negotiating secured and unsecured financing transactions.
  • Experience with senior secured, mezzanine, subordinated debt transactions, and acquisition financings.
  • Familiarity with leveraged finance and mergers and acquisitions is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of complex financing transactions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on high-stakes matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:
